Sight-Color Blind



Hunter's in your opinion can deer see colors? Remember when scientist claimed that fish could not see colors?



Researchers claim that deer see everything in varying shades of grey.

Deer can see moving objects over a much wider span of view than man, but deer have much more trouble fully seeing stationary objects when they do see them.



The color of the whitetail

Summer coat, red or yellowish red or light brown.

Fall coat, blue, deep grey, brown or olive brown blending into yellow brown on legs and flanks, white inside legs, under tail and under belly. Pure white underneath and darker than the body color on the outside.

Whitetails have the largest tail of the species. Tail length, 7-11 inches long.



Habitat:

Forest, swamps, adjacent brushy areas. North America and Southern Canada--the southern border of the United States.
